Kids' Quest members have been partying across Arkansas. See the pics and find out all about the parties:

December 30
6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m.



Kids' Quest members and their families are invited the the Arkansas Museum of NaturalResources in Smackover to enjoy Mayan Family Night on December 30. Enjoy a guided tour of the Mystery of the Mayan Medallion — parents and children will have an opportunity to solve the Mayan Mystery. The night will be filled with Mayan games and Mayan food. The night will conclude with a visit to the Mayan Market (gift shop) where you will have the opportunity to take home souvenirs of the night. Mayan Family Night begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes at 8:00 p.m.

Rockin’ Rockets

NASA and space and rockets, oh my! Kids spent a fun and fast-paced afternoon exploring the world of space exploration playing games, making rockets, and launching what you made!  A light snack was served. The event was free to all Kids’ Quest members.

Arkansas State University Museum, Jonesboro
Día de los Muertos: A Latino and Hispanic Celebration
Families enjoyed hands-on crafts, music, refreshments, and celebration of this ancient tradition. Handcrafted decorations have a long tradition in Day of the Dead celebrations, and festivities included designing clay skeletons, making tissue paper flowers that emulate the marigolds used to decorate graves in Mexico, and making masks or calavera, all important elements in the celebration. The celebration was free and open to the public. Families were encouraged to attend this multi-generational, multi-cultural event

Visitors experienced the extra treat of Grossology as they joined the festivities.

Mid-America Science Museum, Hot Springs
Science Recycled: Why Does a Hover Craft Hover?

This fun afternoon of science used recycled materials such as CDs and water bottle caps to build a hover craft and understand about air flow; attendees built an air-powered cardboard race car and to see how far they could make it go; visitors usee a common household item to create a Bernoulli Blower; and learn why things float in a wind tunnel.

“Science Recycled” was sponsored by Mid-America Science Museum in partnership with the Arkansas Discovery Network and funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.

Good Vibrations Kids' Quest Party

A full day of special Kids’ Quest activities also is planned for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at the Arts & ScienceCenter for Southeast Arkansas, along with the opening of the exhibit. Events plannedfor the day include homemade “vibrating” ice cream, dance and “stomp” performances, a large, inflatable bouncing machine and “tornado” movies with popcorn.

Mindfest Kids' Quest Party

Kids Quest members it’s time to stretch your mind! It is a festival of learning as visitors express their creativity. Make LED jewelry, paint with light, learn how kaleidoscopes work, dance with shadows or make color disappear. The museum will be full of activity stations that invite all ages to stretch their mind. Pizza will be served in the snack area for all Kids' Quest members.
(Mindfest is also open to the public and will be at the Museum of Discovery from June 12 - 14.)

It's a Nano World!
Kids’ Quest members are invited to an event of microscopic proportions. Nanotechnology is everywhere around you; join them for an afternoon of fun and discovery.

Mid-America Science Museum, Hot Springs
Mayan Family Day
Mesoamerican people enjoyed sports and games after work and on festival days, just as we do today. Learn about two favorite games, tlachtli, the famous Mesoamerican ball game, and patolli, a board game. Both games had religious meanings. Visit the Botany Field Tent and learn about various insects, mammals, and reptiles as “Tommye T” sculptures “Creatures of the Jungle”. Finish your day with fun outdoor games provided by the Hot Springs Gymnastics, Inc.

Good Vibrations Kids' Quest Party - Sight, Sounds and Waves, Oh My!
Spend a fun and fast-paced afternoon as you explore the exhibition, learn about vision/light/electricity, sound, motion, geology, and weather as they all relate to waves! A light snack will be served.
