You're Invited to Help Test Our New Exhibit!
We are very excited about our new exhibit, Discovery Trail, which illustrates the American West during the frontier days. An important part of making an exhibit includes testing to make sure it works the right way.
All Kids' Quest members are invited to visit the Museum of Discovery July 22 and 23 to take part in "prototype testing" for this exhibit. Prototypes are not completed products, but "samples" made of simple materials to test it before building the real exhibit.
On July 22 and 23, Kids' Quest members will receive free admission to the Museum of Discovery with a paid adult admission. So come on and join the fun, and be a part of this exciting new exhibit!

Measure Some Good Vibrations on Your Own!
Ever wonder how a seismograph measures an earthquake? You can turn yourself into a seismograph and measure how bumpy your ride is, just like a seismograph measures movement of the ground. All you need is an arm, a felt-tipped pen, a pad of lined paper, a car, a driver, and a bumpy highway. Try it out!
See a seismograph for yourself at Good Vibrations: Light, Sound and Motion, which is at the Walton Arts Center in Fayetteville (brought to you by the University of Arkansas Center for Math & Science Education) until July 13. On July 19, it opens at the Arts & Science Center for Southeast Arkansas in Pine Bluff.
See recent seismic activity in Arkansas and surrounding states.

Have You Ever Wanted to Make Your Own Mummy?
You can see what the human body really looks like at Our Bodies, which is at Mid-America Science Museum all summer, along with Grossology, which will tell you how certain parts of your body work. The Our Bodies exhibit uses a process called Plastination to preserve the bodies on display. Ancient Egyptians used to preserve bodies by mummifying them. You can learn how to make your own "mummy" with a fresh fish, a plastic container and baking soda. Take a look!
For more information on Our Bodies or Grossology at Mid-America Science Museum, check out their website!
