Newton's Corner

Arkansas Museum Road TripExperience Newton’s three Laws of Motion in a variety of medium at Newton's Corner, and see how they relate to real world situations in your life!

Conduct investigations that demonstrate Newton’s three laws of motion.

  1. An object at rest will remain at rest unless acted on by an unbalanced force. An object in motion continues in motion unless acted upon by an unbalanced force. Law of inertia.
  2. The relationship between an object’s mass and the amount of force needed to accelerate that object (F=ma).
  3. For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

In this exhibit, you will compare and contrast Newton’s three laws of motion and explain how Newton’s laws apply to real world situations (e.g., sports, transportation). Investigate the relationship between force and motion, force and mass, and force and direction while recognizing different types of forces such as gravity, friction and magnetic forces.
